Kaminey - Box Office

Box Office

With unanimously positive reviews, Kaminey opened to an excellent response all over India, with occupancy around 90% across multiplexes. The film also registered good collections across most single screens, and collected 170 million (US$2.9 million) in the opening weekend at the Indian box-office. In its first week of release, the film collected 250 million (US$4.3 million) in India. The film was very strong in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and other cities. Because of the delayed release in Maharastra—where Mumbai and Pune are major sectors for films, it lost about 50 million (US$860,000). However, the film opened very well in Mumbai after its release in Maharastra on Monday. The film did steady business during its run, which took its total collections to 410 million (US$7.1 million) in the fourth week. After its run, the film had collected 710 million (US$12 million) worldwide, and was declared a hit by Box Office India and went on to become a commercial success.

Kaminey opened well in the overseas market, with around 82.50 million (US$1.4 million) collections from North America, UAE, United Kingdom and Australia over the opening weekend. The film fared very well in North America. It collected around 120 million (US$2.1 million) in 10 days from international markets and proved to be a commercial success in overseas markets.

Famous quotes containing the words box and/or office:

I walked on the banks of the tincan banana dock and sat down under the huge shade of a Southern Pacific locomotive to look at the sunset over the box house hills and cry.
    Allen Ginsberg (b. 1926)

So there he is at last. Man on the moon. The poor magnificent bungler! He can’t even get to the office without undergoing the agonies of the damned, but give him a little metal, a few chemicals, some wire and twenty or thirty billion dollars and, vroom! there he is, up on a rock a quarter of a million miles up in the sky.
    Russell Baker (b. 1925)
