K. Chandrashekhar Rao is married to Shobha {Daughter of well-known Freedom Fighter J.Keshava Rao, Kodurpaaka} and has two children, a son K. T. Rama Rao, a legislator, and daughter K._Kavitha. His nephew T._Harish_Rao is Member of Legislative Assembly for the Siddipet constituency. KCR is also a lyricist. He wrote the lyrics to "Garadi Chestundru" from Jai Bolo Telangana (2011).
