- San Jose, California, mayor Ron Gonzales and an aide have been indicted by a criminal grand jury. Gonzales surrendered to the Santa Clara County Sheriff. (NBC)

The detainees are charged with terrorism conspiracy, in connection of being in the early stages of planning attacks against Chicago's Sears Tower (pictured) and possibly FBI and government buildings in the Miami area.
