Judith Exner - Marriage and Family

Marriage and Family

At age 18, Judith married the actor William Campbell in 1952 and took his name. He was an alcoholic, and they divorced in 1958. One account says that they divorced in 1959, after having been separated for two years.

Described as "stunningly beautiful", beginning in 1960 she had an 18-month relationship with John F. Kennedy, then senator, which continued after he was elected president of the United States.

She had a son David Bohrer from a later relationship. In 1975 Campbell married again, to Dan Exner, a golfer. They separated in 1988.

Famous quotes containing the words marriage and/or family:

A marriage based on full confidence, based on complete and unqualified frankness on both sides; they are not keeping anything back; there’s no deception underneath it all. If I might so put it, it’s an agreement for the mutual forgiveness of sin.
    Henrik Ibsen (1828–1906)

Nor does the family even move about together,
But every son would have his motor cycle,
And daughters ride away on casual pillions.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
