Kramvant Joshis of Konkan and Goa
Joshis or Zoyshis of Goa and Konkan,historically formed a separate caste of priests who were engaged in astrology and officiated funeral rites of the Hindus,hence called as kriyavant or kramavant. Apart from the above mentioned caste,few Goan Sarsvat families have adopted Joshi as their surname.
