Jordi Villacampa

Jordi Villacampa Amorós (born October 11, 1963 in Reus, Spain) is a retired basketball player of Joventut Badalona and the present chairman of the club.

For 21 years was a high level player, always in the same club, Joventut de Badalona. At 1.96 m tall, he played as forward. His skills were the speed and a good far shot, being a prolific scorer and one of the best European forwards. Played first time with the professional team at 16 years old, where was playing til his retire in 1997 at 35, with a great homage on December 22. In all these years he won a European Cup, two ACB leagues and some other trophies. With Joventut de Badalona he played 506 matches and scored 8.991 points, the second most in ACB history.

Played 158 times internationally (first time in 1984), being in all the great international competitions of the moment: 2 Olympic Games (Seül’88, Barcelona’92), 3 World Championships (1986, 1990, 1994) and 4 European Championships (1985, 1987, 1991, 1993). His record were 48 points in a match against Venezuela. The best result was a bronze medal in the European Championship Roma'91.

His shirt, with number 8, was retired in 1997 at the Pavelló Olímpic de Badalona. In 2000 he became president of Joventut Badalona, as president he has won 2 Catalan leagues, a Fiba Eurocup, a Spanish cup and the Uleb cup. He has returned Joventut at the top of the European teams.
