Early Years
Shoop began his coaching career as a volunteer Quarterbacks Coach at Dartmouth College in 1991. He served as a Graduate Assistant at Vanderbilt University from 1992–94, where he earned a Master of Education degree from Vanderbilt’s Peabody School of Education. A native of Oakmont, Pennsylvania, Shoop graduated from the University of the South in 1991, where he played quarterback.
