John Joseph McDonald (born September 24, 1974) is an American Major League Baseball player for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Primarily employed as a shortstop, he is a very capable utility infielder, with the ability to also play second base, third base and (in 2009 and 2010) left field. Up to the end of the 2010 season, he had a career fielding percentage of .973.
