By the mid-1990s, Noble was again residing in Dresden, Germany, where he had originally been taken prisoner 50 years earlier. The factory, but not the trademark "Praktica", had been restored to family ownership. He died on November 10, 2007 after a heart attack.
Noble wrote the following three books about his ordeal:
- I Found God in Soviet Russia, by John Noble and Glenn D Everett (1959) (Hardcover).
- I Was a Slave in Russia, by John Noble (Broadview, Illinois: Cicero Bible Press, 1961).
- Verbannt und Verleugnet (Banished and Vanished), by John H. Noble (Ranger Publishing House, 2005).

Famous quotes containing the word life:
“But that beginning was wiped out in fear
The day I swung suspended with the grapes,
And was come after like Eurydice
And brought down safely from the upper regions;
And the life I live nows an extra life
I can waste as I please on whom I please.”
—Robert Frost (18741963)
“The sensation of seeing extremely fine women, with superb forms, perfectly unconscious of undress, and yet evidently aware of their beauty and dignity, is worth a weeks seasickness to experience.... To me the effect [of a Siva dance] was that of a dozen Rembrandts intensified into the most glowing beauty of life and motion.”
—Henry Brooks Adams (18381918)
