John Bockris - Later Years and Current Work

Later Years and Current Work

Bockris retired from Texas A&M University in 1997 at the age of 74. He is currently 89. Since then has worked on two themes:

  1. Carbon-neutral fuels to replace gasoline.
  1. Further examination of the validity of D + D → He and 24 Mev reaction first described in 1992.

In the latter case, he has had much correspondence and interchanges with colleagues. Synthesis of He is very rare.

A further major contribution was published in 2005. This is a full consideration (500 + pages) of the challenges offered to the standard model of Physics by many of the phenomena studied under paranormal science.

The book includes wide discussion of, e.g., the concept of Consciousness.

Famous quotes containing the words years, current and/or work:

A few years before I lived in the woods there was what was called a “winged cat” in one of the farmhouses.... This would have been the right kind of cat for me to keep, if I had kept any; for why should not a poet’s cat be winged as well as his horse?
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

We all participate in weaving the social fabric; we should therefore all participate in patching the fabric when it develops holes—mismatches between old expectations and current realities.
    Anne C. Weisberg (20th century)

I suppose I have a really loose interpretation of “work,” because I think that just being alive is so much work at something you don’t always want to do.... The machinery is always going. Even when you sleep.
    Andy Warhol (1928–1987)
