Joel Siegel - Good Morning America and Later Career

Good Morning America and Later Career

In 1981 he joined Good Morning America (GMA) to star as a film critic. While Siegel worked at his reviewing, he wrote the book for The First, a Broadway musical based on the story of Jackie Robinson, for which he received a Tony Award nomination in 1982. This marks him as the only drama critic to receive this nomination.

Famous quotes containing the words morning and/or career:

Morning work! By the blushes of Aurora and the music of Memnon, what should be man’s morning work in this world?
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

It is a great many years since at the outset of my career I had to think seriously what life had to offer that was worth having. I came to the conclusion that the chief good for me was freedom to learn, think, and say what I pleased, when I pleased. I have acted on that conviction... and though strongly, and perhaps wisely, warned that I should probably come to grief, I am entirely satisfied with the results of the line of action I have adopted.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)
