Ethnicity
Jhorahat is situated in an ethnically diverse part of Morang. The Brahmin and Kshyatriya population mostly reside in the Jhorahat central area, while other communities such as the Tharu, Musahar, Batar, Bhojpuri,Brahmin, Kshyatriya,Newar,Kami, Damain live in scattered hamlets such as Khuniyakatta, Tetariya, Batrain, and Birta. Pidarboni in the north is a large village home predominantly to the Tharu community.
