Chalmette

In Chalmette, six miles (10 km) southeast of New Orleans, is the Chalmette Battlefield and National Cemetery. It is the site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans. The national cemetery holds the remains of Union soldiers from the Civil War, and United States soldiers from the Spanish-American, and First and Second World wars, and Vietnam war.
