Jay Williams (basketball)

Jason David Williams (born September 10, 1981 in Plainfield, New Jersey), professionally known as Jay Williams, is an American former professional basketball player who played for the NBA's Chicago Bulls. He last signed with the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League, but was waived by the Toros on December 30, 2006 to rehabilitate a nagging injury. Even though his first name is actually Jason, he asked to be known as Jay upon joining the National Basketball Association in 2002. This was to avoid confusion with then-active NBA player Jason Williams, and retired NBA player Jayson Williams.

Famous quotes containing the words jay and/or williams:

You may call a jay a bird. Well, so he is, in a measure—because he’s got feathers on him, and don’t belong to no church, perhaps; but otherwise he is just as much a human as you be. And I’ll tell you for why. A jay’s gifts and instincts, and feelings, and interests, cover the whole ground. A jay hasn’t got any more principle than a Congressman.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)

It haunts me, the passage of time. I think time is a merciless thing. I think life is a process of burning oneself out and time is the fire that burns you. But I think the spirit of man is a good adversary.
    —Tennessee Williams (1914–1983)
