On the same day the UDA kills a 15-year-old Catholic civilian in a drive-by shooting at Falls Road/Donegall Road junction, Belfast, and the Provisional IRA shoots dead UDA member Francis 'Hatchet' Smith in west Belfast; Smith was rumoured to have led the group that shot the teenager.
