Early Life and Career

Waylett was born in Kilburn, London, the youngest of four children, and lived in Camden, North London.

While he was a student at Emmanuel Primary School, his photograph was taken as part of a general auditioning process for the Harry Potter films. Initially considered for the part of Dudley Dursley, after an audition at Leavesden Studios in front of director Chris Columbus he was cast as Vincent Crabbe. On 9 August 2009, fellow Harry Potter star Joshua Herdman announced that Waylett would not be returning for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the final instalment in the film series. The role of Waylett's character in the plot was taken over by Herdman's character.

While you here do snoring lie,
    Open-eyed conspiracy
    His time doth take.
If of life you keep a care,
    Shake off slumber, and beware.
    Awake, Awake!
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

I not only procrastinated endlessly, submitting my medical school application at the very last minute, but continued to crave a conventional female role even as I moved ahead with my “male” pursuits.
    Margaret S. Mahler (1897–1985)
