James Vowles

James Vowles, born 1979 in Felbridge, is a British motorsport engineer, currently working in Formula One with the Mercedes GP team as their Chief Strategist.

Vowles was responsible for the Brawn GP race strategy, which was critical to the teams' 2009 campaign. Prior to Brawn GP, Vowles worked in Formula 1 as an engineer for Brawn GP's predecessors British American Racing and Honda Racing F1.

Vowles has completed various BBC interviews, his latest during the first practice session in Korea, 2010.

Vowles attended the International school of Geneva until he graduated, in 1997. He went on to the University of East Anglia obtaining a degree in Computer Science, followed by a Masters in Motorsport Engineering and Management from Cranfield University in 2001, receiving the Prodrive Award of Excellence.
