Acquired Land

In 1865 Todd acquired 160 acres (0.65 km2) that stretched north and west from the present corner of Todd and Barnhartvale Roads. Todd acquired another 160 acres (0.65 km2) of land extending his property further north to the South Thompson River. In 1870 he purchased land in Barnhartvale along Campbell Creek. James Todd married Maggie Pablos (her father was the Buffalo King of Montana) and had two sons and three daughters.

Famous quotes containing the words acquired and/or land:

The poorest children in a community now find the beneficent kindergarten open to them from the age of two-and-a-half to six years. Too young heretofore to be eligible to any public school, they have acquired in their babyhood the vicious tendencies of their own depraved neighborhoods; and to their environment at that tender age had been due the loss of decency and self-respect that no after example of education has been able to restore to them.
    Virginia Thrall Smith (1836–1903)

This land is your land & this land is my land—sure—but the world is run by those that never listen to music anyway.
Bob Dylan [Robert Allen Zimmerman] (b. 1941)
