James The Red Engine - James The Red Engine in The TV Series

James The Red Engine in The TV Series

From the CGI series version onward, James is voiced by Kerry Shale in the US versionand Keith Wickham (who also voices Edward, Henry, Gordon & Percy) in the UK version.

Unlike the books, the TV episode of "Thomas and the Breakdown Train" had a red-coloured James from the beginning and omitted the Fat Controller's granting him a new coat of paint (most likely done for cost reasons).

‘Intellectualism’ is the belief that our mind comes upon a world complete in itself, and has the duty of ascertaining its contents; but has no power of re-determining its character, for that is already given.
    —William James (1842–1910)

How red the rose that is the soldier’s wound,
The wounds of many soldiers, the wounds of all
The soldiers that have fallen, red in blood,
The soldier of time grown deathless in great size.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

The will is never free—it is always attached to an object, a purpose. It is simply the engine in the car—it can’t steer.
    Joyce Cary (1888–1957)

The professional celebrity, male and female, is the crowning result of the star system of a society that makes a fetish of competition. In America, this system is carried to the point where a man who can knock a small white ball into a series of holes in the ground with more efficiency than anyone else thereby gains social access to the President of the United States.
    C. Wright Mills (1916–1962)
