Famous quotes containing the words james, quick and/or murphy:

How sick one gets of being “good,” how much I should respect myself if I could burst out and make everyone wretched for twenty-four hours; embody selfishness.
    —Alice James (1848–1892)

    I fell her finger light
Laid pausefully upon life’s headlong train;—
The foot less prompt to meet the morning dew,
The heart less bounding at emotion new,
And hope, once crush’d, less quick to spring again.
    Matthew Arnold (1822–1888)

Gus Van Sant, U.S. screenwriter and director, and Dan Yost. Father Tom Murphy (William S. Burroughs)
