James Doakes - Character Biography

Character Biography

Doakes enlisted in the U.S. Army and went on to become an Army Ranger, serving with the elite Regimental Reconnaissance Detachment. After spending many years in black operations, Doakes gave up his military career, electing instead to use his skills to help innocent civilians. Doakes's police career grinds to a halt when he receives excessive force citations and proves he cannot work well with others (unless leading them). Doakes was partnered with Maria LaGuerta, and briefly had a relationship with her, which ended after she was promoted following a high-profile drug bust.

Famous quotes containing the words character and/or biography:

Taught from their infancy that beauty is woman’s sceptre, the mind shapes itself to the body, and, roaming round its gilt cage, only seeks to adorn its prison. Men have various employments and pursuits which engage their attention, and give a character to the opening mind; but women, confined to one, and having their thoughts constantly directed to the most insignificant part of themselves, seldom extend their views beyond the triumph of the hour.
    Mary Wollstonecraft (1759–1797)

There never was a good biography of a good novelist. There couldn’t be. He is too many people, if he’s any good.
    F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896–1940)
