Illustrious Persons
Main article: SalakapurusaSalakapurusas (illustrious or worthy persons), also known as trisastisalakapurusa (63 illustrious persons) are 63 illustrious beings who appear during each half-time cycle. The Jain universal or legendary history is a compilation of the deeds of these illustrious persons. They are 24 Tīrthaṅkaras (ford makers), 12 Cakravartīs (universal monarchs, emperors of six continents), 9 Baladevas (gentle heroes), 9 Vāsudevas (violent heroes) and 9 Prativāsudevas (anti-heroes).
