Jack Anthony (musician) - Early Career

Early Career

With an early interest in music, Jack began playing guitar at the age of 10. By high school he was playing in numerous garage band and performing at various Southern California venues, while simultaneously working on his solo project.

In 1999, after hearing a Jack Anthony demo given to him by a local radio station DJ, Drive Thru Records president Richard Reines contacted Jack and began offering him advice. He also put him in touch with Max Bemis, who had recently formed Say Anything. The two appeared together at the Roxy in 2001, and Jack appears in the thank yous of the rare Say Anything release, entitled "Junior Varsity".

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or career:

Love is the hardest thing in the world to write about. So simple. You’ve got to catch it through details, like the early morning sunlight hitting the gray tin of the rain spout in front of her house. The ringing of a telephone that sounds like Beethoven’s “Pastoral.” A letter scribbled on her office stationery that you carry around in your pocket because it smells of all the lilacs in Ohio.
    Billy Wilder (b. 1906)

John Brown’s career for the last six weeks of his life was meteor-like, flashing through the darkness in which we live. I know of nothing so miraculous in our history.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
