Death
Jaan Kross died in Tallinn, at the age of 87, on 27 December 2007. He is survived by his wife Ellen Niit and four children. The President of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, praised Kross "as a preserver of the Estonian language and culture."
Kross is buried at the Rahumäe cemetery in Tallinn.
