"I've Gotta Get a Message to You" is a rock ballad by the British-Australian rock band Bee Gees in 1968, which became their second number-one single on the UK Singles Chart, and reached number eight on the US pop chart. In the United Kingdom the song was released as a single only. The song appeared on the US edition of the Bee Gees' third album Idea, however not in the United Kingdom the Vince Melouney track "Such a Shame" appeared instead. in the UK but both songs are featured on the CD edition released circa 1991. This song was sent to Atlantic Records with "I Laugh in Your Face", therefore it would be reasonable to assume that the latter was the intended B-side. However, it was dropped in favour of Kitty Can.Percy Sledge in mind to record it. (In fact, Sledge did record it in February, 1970, but Atlantic did not issue it in the United States at the time.)

Famous quotes containing the words gotta and/or message:
“Ma, sooner or later there comes a point in a mans life when hes gotta face some facts. And one fact Ive got to face is whatever it is women like, I aint got it.”
—Paddy Chayefsky (19231981)
“The message you give your children when you discipline with love is I care too much about you to let you misbehave. I care enough about you that Im willing to spend time and effort to help you learn what is appropriate. All children need the security and stability of food, shelter, love, and protection, but unless they also receive effective and appropriate discipline, they wont feel secure.”
—Stephanie Marston (20th century)
