Last Judgment in The Qur'an
The Qur'an contains the majority of description of the Last Judgment, and has had a variety of interpretations of its verses. There are a number of specific aspects:
- The time is known only to Allah.
- Muhammad cannot help it come earlier.
- People will believe that a short time has passed between birth and death. Nothing will remain except God.
- God will resurrect all, even if they have turned to stone or iron.
- Belief in God, Muhammad, the prophets of Islam, the Day of Judgment, doing good and not Shirk, and the five pillars of Islam are needed for salvation: tawheed, salat, fasting, Zakat and Hajj
- Those that have accepted false deities will suffer in the afterlife.
A trumpet will be blown twice: the first time, all creatures will swoon, the second time the resurrection will come. As written in the Qur'an:
The Trumpet will (just) be sounded, when all that are in the heavens and on earth will swoon, except such as it will please Allah (to exempt). Then will a second one be sounded, when, behold, they will be standing and looking on! —Sura 39 (Az-Zumar), ayah 68Finally, there will be no more injustic:
Surely God does not do injustice to the weight of an ant, and if it is a good deed He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward. —Sura 4 An-Nisa, ayah 40Read more about this topic: Islamic View Of The Last Judgment
Famous quotes containing the word judgment:
“The impulse to perfection cannot exist where the definition of perfection is the arbitrary decision of authority. That which is born in loneliness and from the heart cannot be defended against the judgment of a committee of sycophants. The volatile essences which make literature cannot survive the clichés of a long series of story conferences.”
—Raymond Chandler (18881959)
