Ishaq Khan belongs to Khogyani tribe from Khogyani district in Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan. They have been settled in Multan for quite a while and the Khogyani Tribes' branch in Pakistan is known as the Khakwani family, and they are the major landowners in at least 3 of the 4 provinces and a minor presence in the 4th. He is married with three sons, ages 32, 29 and 24.
