Remains
Substantial archeologically excavated Roman remains of the Roman fortress can be seen at Caerleon.
Cadw administers:
- The military amphitheatre, one of the most impressive in Britain
- Part of the military bath house, with the Roman Baths Museum in situ above it
- Prysg Field Barracks, the only Roman legionary barracks visible in Europe
- The fortress wall, still standing twelve feet high in places
- The National Roman Legion Museum, located in the village, is part of the National Museums and Galleries of Wales. The museum exhibits artifacts and finds from excavations throughout the village including Roman currency, weapons, uniform etc.

Famous quotes containing the word remains:
“It may be tempting to focus on the fact that, even among those who support equality, mens involvement as fathers remains a far distance from what most women want and most children need. Yet it is also important to acknowledge how far and how fast many men have moved towards a pattern that not long ago virtually all men considered anathema.”
—Katherine Gerson (20th century)
“The ambiguous, gray areas of authority and responsibility between parents and teachers exacerbate the distrust between them. The distrust is further complicated by the fact that it is rarely articulated, but usually remains smoldering and silent.”
—Sara Lawrence Lightfoot (20th century)
“We are prisoners of the worlds demented sink.
The soft enchantments of our years of innocence
Are harvested by accredited experience
Our fondest memories soon turn to poison
And only oblivion remains in season.”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
