Iron Horse has a two story classroom building (20 classrooms), a library with a media center, a learning center, cafeteria (MPR), instrumental and choir music rooms next to the MPR, an outdoor-based environmental science classroom, and fifteen portables in the back of the school. (Although there is an instrumental music program at IHMS, there is no choir program.) The gymnasium is shared with the community center. To the side of the gym there is are 2 soccer fields,a track, and five basketball courts, in addition to two softball fields and a baseball field.
