Iraqis in Sweden

Iraqis in Sweden numbered at 118,000 people as of 2009, or 1.3% of the total population of Sweden.

They are one of the largest ethnic minority groups living in Sweden, second to the Sweden Finns (5.1%). As of 2012, there are approximately 125,499 people born in Iraq living in Sweden, as well as 47,913 people born in Sweden with at least one parent born in Iraq.

The size of this group has doubled in the period of 2002 to 2009; the influx of Iraqi refugees increased dramatically from 2006 to 2009 as a result of the Iraq War.
