After the hit album Cuts Both Ways, and the near-tragic accident for Estefan during the "Get on Your Feet Tour", she portrayed her emotion on Into the Light. The theme of the album was bouncing back from the darkness of disaster, hence the album's title. The album received commercial success, and has sold 3.8 million copies to date.
