Future Alignments
In Edmonds, the right-of-way consists of unused dirt alleyways and private property. The City is planning to improve the trail and acquire property, but in the meantime routes trail traffic onto local roadways. Mountlake Terrace's portion of the trail ends at 228th Street SW and Shoreline's part of the trail ends at Highway 104 by 76th Avenue W. Edmonds plans to link these sections.
On the northern portion of the trail, an overpass over Interstate 5 near 128th Street and an extension into downtown Everett is proposed.

Famous quotes containing the word future:
“Autonomy means women defining themselves and the values by which they will live, and beginning to think of institutional arrangements which will order their environment in line with their needs.... Autonomy means moving out from a world in which one is born to marginality, to a past without meaning, and a future determined by othersinto a world in which one acts and chooses, aware of a meaningful past and free to shape ones future.”
—Gerda Lerner (b. 1920)
