  • Tyrannosaurus Rex percussionist Steve Peregrin Took (a friend of Barrett's) jammed a few bars of the lead riff of the song on his bass guitar (after calling out to the audience "Are there any Pink Fairies out there?") at an April 1969 concert at the Lyceum, while his partner Marc Bolan was busy switching from acoustic guitar to electric for a rendition of the band's song "Do You Remember?". The incident can be heard on various live album releases of the concert, including Midnight Court at the Lyceum.
  • The Mars Volta incorporated a cover of the song into their live shows as a tribute to Syd Barrett.
  • Professional wrestling stable Generation Next used the cover version by The Melvins as their theme song which appears on their album Electroretard.

Famous quotes containing the word covers:

What art can paint or gild any object in afterlife with the glow which Nature gives to the first baubles of childhood. St. Peter’s cannot have the magical power over us that the red and gold covers of our first picture-book possessed. How the imagination cleaves to the warm glories of that tinsel even now! What entertainments make every day bright and short for the fine freshman!
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Boys finding for the first time their loins filled with heart’s
    blood
Widowed farmers whose hands float under light covers to find
    themselves
    Arisen at sunrise
    James Dickey (b. 1923)

It is an evil world. The fires of hatred and violence burn fiercely. Evil is powerful, the devil covers a darkened earth with his black wings. And soon the end of the world is expected. But mankind does not repent, the church struggles, and the preachers and poets warn and lament in vain.
    Johan Huizinga (1872–1945)
