The International Law Commission's work has led to the creation of a number of treaties and other works of international law that are key to the present international legal order (see generally ), for example:

  • The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties
  • The Vienna Convention on Succession of States in respect of Treaties

  • The Articles on the Responsibility of States for Internationally Wrongful Acts
  • The International Criminal Court, first proposed in December 1948 at the request of the UN General Assembly.

Famous quotes containing the word achievements:

Like all writers, he measured the achievements of others by what they had accomplished, asking of them that they measure him by what he envisaged or planned.
    Jorge Luis Borges (1899–1986)

Our achievements speak for themselves. What we have to keep track of are our failures, discouragements, and doubts. We tend to forget the past difficulties, the many false starts, and the painful groping. We see our past achievements as the end result of a clean forward thrust, and our present difficulties as signs of decline and decay.
    Eric Hoffer (1902–1983)
