Founded in 1979, it is carried out every four years in Vienna, Austria. It is limited to violinists of or under 30 years of age.
Famous quotes containing the words fritz and/or competition:
“Los Angeles gives one the feeling of the future more strongly than any city I know of. A bad future, too, like something out of Fritz Langs feeble imagination.”
—Henry Miller (18911980)
“Such joint ownership creates a place where mothers can father and fathers can mother. It does not encourage mothers and fathers to compete with one another for first- place parent. Such competition is not especially good for marriage and furthermore drives kids nuts.”
—Kyle D. Pruett (20th century)
