The Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies (Instytut Studiów Wschodnich) is the main organizer of the International Economic Forum held annually in Krynica/Poland since 1990.
The main aim of the Forum is developing dialogue and cooperation among EU countries and their neighbours and partners.
During seventeen years of activity, the International Economic Forum has become a major political and economic event in the region and a distinguished platform of discussion on a wide array of issues such as economy, politics, international security and society. Year after year, the Forum brings together Heads of State, members of governments, experts, eminent businessmen and social activists from renowned NGOs.
Famous quotes containing the words economic and/or forum:
“What exacerbates the strain in the working class is the absence of money to pay for services they need, economic insecurity, poor daycare, and lack of dignity and boredom in each partners job. What exacerbates it in upper-middle class is the instability of paid help and the enormous demands of the career system in which both partners become willing believers. But the tug between traditional and egalitarian models of marriage runs from top to bottom of the class ladder.”
—Arlie Hochschild (20th century)
“If I should ever decide in the future to discuss my deep Christian beliefs and condemnation and sinfulness, I would use another forum besides Playboy.”
—Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.)
