Intellectual Property Brokering - Patent Brokers Market

Patent Brokers Market

The estimated number of patent brokers range vary greatly. For example, a 1999 WIPO paper estimated 500 "patent brokers" in the United States in. However, an August 2012 listing of patent brokerage companies includes only about 28 businesses worldwide. As none of these firms have a large number of employees, the 1999 estimates are either wrong as the number of businesses operating as patent brokers does not match the 1999 patent brokers estimates, or there has been a significant decline in the market for patent brokerage. Further research is required to estimate the number of patent brokers.

Famous quotes containing the words patent and/or market:

The cigar-box which the European calls a “lift” needs but to be compared with our elevators to be appreciated. The lift stops to reflect between floors. That is all right in a hearse, but not in elevators. The American elevator acts like the man’s patent purge—it works
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)

To throw obstacles in the way of a complete education is like putting out the eyes; to deny the rights of property is like cutting off the hands. To refuse political equality is like robbing the ostracized of all self-respect, of credit in the market place, of recompense in the world of work, of a voice in choosing those who make and administer the law, a choice in the jury before whom they are tried, and in the judge who decides their punishment.
    Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815–1902)
