The Institute of Business Administration (Bengali: ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন ইনস্টিটিউট) of the University of Dhaka - commonly known as IBA - is a government funded institution for business-education in the South Asian Country of Bangladesh. It was established in 1966 in collaboration with the IBA Karachi, but is currently only affiliated with the University of Dhaka. This is due to the strong resentment of Pakistan after the liberation war of 1971. Late Professor M.Safiullah was the founder-director of IBA. IBA pioneered Business Administration education in Bangladesh. It also pioneered Semester and credit based education system in Bangladesh.

Famous quotes containing the words institute, business and/or university:

Whenever any form of government shall become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, & to institute new government, laying it’s foundation on such principles & organising it’s powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

The most sensible people to be met with in society are men of business and of the world, who argue from what they see and know, instead of spinning cobweb distinctions of what things ought to be.
    William Hazlitt (1778–1830)

The university is no longer a quiet place to teach and do scholarly work at a measured pace and contemplate the universe. It is big, complex, demanding, competitive, bureaucratic, and chronically short of money.
    Phyllis Dain (b. 1930)
