Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs - Student Life

Student Life

Students have taken the initiative to organize several clubs such as the Nonprofit Management Association, the public Affairs Student Association, the Environmental Management Association, Students Taking Active Roles Today (START), the International Public Affairs Association, and the Diversity Project.

In addition, the Graduate Student Association works closely between students, faculty and staff, to coordinate communication among them and offer opportunities for leadership and involvement to the school's masters students. Elected officers attend regular meetings with faculty and staff to discuss programs, policies and other aspects of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs experience. Active members attend committee meetings and coordinate projects, trips, activities and parties. Every person in the professional masters programs at SPEA-IUB is a member of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs Graduate Student Association (GSA).

Famous quotes containing the words student and/or life:

It is clear that everybody interested in science must be interested in world 3 objects. A physical scientist, to start with, may be interested mainly in world 1 objects—say crystals and X-rays. But very soon he must realize how much depends on our interpretation of the facts, that is, on our theories, and so on world 3 objects. Similarly, a historian of science, or a philosopher interested in science must be largely a student of world 3 objects.
    Karl Popper (1902–1994)

One of the sad realities of being a parent is that the same stuff you know is exciting, educational, and enriching in your child’s life is often messy, smelly and exhausting to deal with.
    Joyce Maynard (20th century)
