Indiana State Road 234 - History

History

A middle section of SR 234 existed in Hamilton County, Indiana, between U.S. Route 31 in Carmel and Indiana State Road 37 in Noblesville. The designation in this area has not existed since the late 1970s, but some modern maps still show it running along 131st Street and River Road in Carmel and 146th Street into Fishers and Noblesville.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

It is my conviction that women are the natural orators of the race.
Eliza Archard Connor, U.S. suffragist. As quoted in History of Woman Suffrage, vol. 4, ch. 9, by Susan B. Anthony and Ida Husted Harper (1902)

A man will not need to study history to find out what is best for his own culture.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The second day of July 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more
    John Adams (1735–1826)
