Heritage Railroad

The museum operates the 10-mile stretch of the line between French Lick and Cuzco as a heritage railroad and carried approximately 23,000 passengers in 2004.

Excursions are based on a 20 mile round trip through portions of the scenic Hoosier National Forest and the 2200 foot Burton Tunnel and takes approximately 2 hours.

Famous quotes containing the words heritage and/or railroad:

Flowers ... that are so pathetic in their beauty, frail as the clouds, and in their colouring as gorgeous as the heavens, had through thousands of years been the heritage of children—honoured as the jewellery of God only by them—when suddenly the voice of Christianity, counter-signing the voice of infancy, raised them to a grandeur transcending the Hebrew throne, although founded by God himself, and pronounced Solomon in all his glory not to be arrayed like one of these.
    Thomas De Quincey (1785–1859)

This I saw when waking late,
Going by at a railroad rate,
Looking through wreaths of engine smoke
Far into the lives of other folk.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)
