Weapons

Though ICAC members are trained to use firearms, most members of the ICAC are not armed and only Arms Issued Officers (AIO) and members of the Witness Protection and Firearms Section have the permit.

Before the semi-automatic pistols are provided for the use-of-force option, the revolver were the standard issued firearms to the AIOs, notably the Smith and Wesson Model 10、Colt Detective Special and Smith & Wesson Model 13 in .38 Special and .357 Magnum ammunition.

Arms Issued Officers and members of the Witness Protection and Firearms Section are trained in the use of, and issued, the Glock 17 or 19 handguns as sidearms. The members of the Witness Protection and Firearms Section also carry a baton and a small CS gas sprayer for less-than-lethal options for protection on the field.

Famous quotes containing the word weapons:

I have always been of the mind that in a democracy manners are the only effective weapons against the bowie-knife.
    James Russell Lowell (1819–91)

When it comes to my own turn to lay my weapons down, I shall do so with thankfulness and fatigue, and whatever be my destiny afterward, I shall be glad to lie down with my fathers in honour. It is human at least, if not divine.
    Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–1894)
