Incredible (Mary Mary Album) - Overview

Overview

Incredible charted better than its predecessor Thankful, though it sold significantly less (Incredible was certified Gold, whilst Thankful was certified Platinum). It charted at #1 Gospel, #10 R&B, and #20 on the US Top 200, and spawned the hit single "In the Morning" (#54 R&B). The follow-up single "I Try" was not as successful and did not chart on the R&B charts.

In response to the albums sales in an interview, Tina Campbell stated:

...the business of music has changed drastically since the first record. There have been huge mergers, the advent of Napster, and downsizing of labels. Our second record came in the midst of all of that. When we were performing, people asked when we'd release our second album, even though it had already been out for six weeks. So I definitely think it may not have gotten the push the first one got. —Tina Campbell
