This may be one of the factors in the noticeable and recognizable frequency and popularity of what are dubbed as "Twincest" stories in Japanese popular culture, especially in such contemporary art forms as manga, anime, the light novel, and video games, especially the genre of Japanese role-playing game (particularly the inter-related sub-art forms of visual novel, dating simulation, bishojo game, eroge).
