In My Mind (song)
"In My Mind" is a song by American singer-songwriter Shannon Sanders from his debut album, Outta Nowhere (1999). It was covered by Trinidadian singer-songwriter Heather Headley and released in late September 2005 as the lead single from her second studio album, of the same name (2006). Her version peaked at number seventy-five on the Billboard Hot 100 in early April 2006, while the song's remixes by the Freemasons and Dave Hernandez topped the Hot Dance Club Play.
The song talks about a woman who is still in love with her ex-boyfriend and feels that, according to the lyrics, "In my mind, I'll always be his lady/In my mind, I'll always be his girl."
