In My Head (Queens Of The Stone Age Song)

"In My Head" is the second single released by the rock group Queens of the Stone Age on June 27, 2005, from their fourth album Lullabies to Paralyze. "In My Head" originally appeared on Desert Sessions vols. 9 & 10 in 2003, where it was named "In My Head...Or Something." It is often recognized for its simple melody and chord progression (a steady A major, G major, E major, C major featuring a D major lick). The song appears in the end credits during the Entourage episode "The Release" and was also featured in the video game Need for Speed: Underground 2 and in the unreleased beta of Need For Speed: Carbon. The song is available as downloadable content for Rock Band 3.

The video for the song was later castigated by guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen:

...t just happened to be the only time we listened to the record label and it was such a fuck up on our part. The video we ended up with for that song is so lame! It was three of us against a green screen with effects added later. It was like a fucking Gap commercial. It was terrible. Just terrible. We were on the road so we weren't in control of it. —Troy Van Leeuwen in interview with SuicideGirls.com

Famous quotes containing the words head, stone and/or age:

Come, Kate, thou art perfect in lying down.
Come, quick, quick, that I may lay my head in thy lap.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

... we have every reason to rejoice when there are so many gains and when favorable conditions abound on every hand. The end is not yet in sight, but it can not be far away. The road before us is shorter than the road behind.
    —Lucy Stone (1818–1893)

If a man do not erect in this age his own tomb ere he dies, he shall live no longer in monument than the bell rings and the widow weeps.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
