Imagine Publishing

Imagine Publishing is a UK-based magazine publisher, which publishes a number of videogames, technology, photography and knowledge/science magazines. It was founded on 14 May 2005 with private funds by Damian Butt, Steven Boyd and Mark Kendrick, all were former directors of Paragon Publishing, and launched with a core set of six gaming and computing titles.

In October 2005, it acquired the only retro games magazine Retro Gamer, after its original publisher, Live Publishing went bankrupt. Early in 2006, it further acquired the rights to publish a considerable number of titles including gamesTM, Play, PowerStation, X360, Digital Photographer and iCreate, from the old Paragon Publishing stable of magazines when owner Highbury House Communications went into liquidation, following Future Publishing's withdrawal of its offer to buy the company, due to threats of a monopoly-investigation by the United Kingdom Competition Commission.

In 2008, Imagine Publishing acquired Total 911, a specialist luxury motoring magazine for the Porsche 911, from 9Publishing. The deal also included the website URL Total911.com and the magazine's entire back catalogue. The magazine was comprehensively relaunched in 2009.

In May 2009, Linux User & Developer and its back catalogue of content was acquired and relaunched.

Imagine Publishing is a worldwide multimedia content producer and currently has a portfolio of over 19 regular print magazines, 29 websites, 50 mobile apps and over 240 bookazines and eBooks published worldwide within the four key markets – technology, photography, knowledge/science and videogames.

Famous quotes containing the words imagine and/or publishing:

I am not sure how many “sins” I would recognize in the world. Some would surely be defused by changed circumstances. But I can imagine none that is more irredeemably sinful than the betrayal, the exploitation, of the young by those who should care for them.
    Elizabeth Janeway (b. 1913)

While you continue to grow fatter and richer publishing your nauseating confectionery, I shall become a mole, digging here, rooting there, stirring up the whole rotten mess where life is hard, raw and ugly.
    Norman Reilly Raine (1895–1971)
