Lessons Learned
Among the lessons learned were that:
- Airtightness was difficult to achieve
- Ventilation systems could suffer from noise and draft problems
- Care was needed to design out summer overheating
- Simple installations and systems were easier for the residents to understand
For a report on the Task 13 findings, see Energy Design Update, December 2003.

Famous quotes containing the words lessons and/or learned:
“Living by basic good-mothering guidelines enables a mom to blend the responsibilities of parenthood with its joys; to know when to stand her ground and when to be flexible; and to absorb the lessons of the parenting gurus while also trusting her inner voice when it reasons that another cookie isnt worth fighting over, or that her child wont suffer irreparable trauma if, once in a while, Mom puts her own needs first.”
—Sue Woodman (20th century)
“His talent was as natural as the pattern that was made by the dust on a butterflys wings. At one time he understood it no more than the butterfly did and he did not know when it was brushed or marred. Later he became conscious of his damaged wings and of their construction and he learned to think and could not fly any more because the love of flight was gone and he could only remember when it had been effortless.”
—Ernest Hemingway (18991961)
