Identity Governance Framework - Purpose

Purpose

The Identity Governance Framework (IGF) enables organizations to define policies that regulate and control the exchange of identity information between application systems both internally and with external partners. Identity information may include things like names, addresses, social security numbers or other information that would be otherwise considered related to an individual's identity.

The policy information is both useful to privacy auditors for assessing the use of identity information in applications and to policy enforcement systems for ensuring that appropriate use of identity information takes place.

For more information, consult the Liberty Alliance IGF Strategic Initiative web site.

Famous quotes containing the word purpose:

Thus one can observe that those who proclaim piety as their goal and purpose usually turn into hypocrites.
    Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749–1832)

I envy neither the heart nor the head of any legislator who has been born to an inheritance of privileges, who has behind him ages of education, dominion, civilization, and Christianity, if he stands opposed to the passage of a national education bill, whose purpose is to secure education to the children of those who were born under the shadow of institutions which made it a crime to read.
    Frances Ellen Watkins Harper (1825–1911)

What if we fail to stop the erosion of cities by automobiles?... In that case America will hardly need to ponder a mystery that has troubled men for millennia: What is the purpose of life? For us, the answer will be clear, established and for all practical purposes indisputable: The purpose of life is to produce and consume automobiles.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)
