ICICI Manipal Academy of Banking and Insurance

ICICI Manipal Academy of Banking and Insurance is a joint venture of the ICICI Bank and Manipal University. It was inaugurated on 5 February 2008. The Academy has been set up to transform graduates into "smart bankers" in a year. It is a multi campus institution. The first two campuses have been established at Hyderabad and Bangalore. Some more campuses would be added in due course of time.

The Academy provides fully residential programmes to train selected probationary officers of the ICICI Bank. The thrust of training is to impart functional knowledge of general management and specialized knowledge of banking related subjects. Programme participants are put through a very rigorous training with emphasis on application of knowledge and overall development of personality. The training at the academy is supplemented with practical training in bank-branches.

The academy aims to impart young graduates with banking knowledge which are later absorbed into the banking industry by ICICI Bank, after completion of one year PGDB course. There have been several batches that have graduated from the academy & are contributing to the banking industry.

Famous novelist Nitya Prakash is an alumnus of ICICI Manipal Academy.

Famous quotes containing the words academy, banking and/or insurance:

...I have come to make distinctions between what I call the academy and literature, the moral equivalents of church and God. The academy may lie, but literature tries to tell the truth.

One of the reforms to be carried out during the incoming administration is a change in our monetary and banking laws, so as to secure greater elasticity in the forms of currency available for trade and to prevent the limitations of law from operating to increase the embarrassment of a financial panic.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

The Republican convention, an event with the intellectual content of a Guns’n’Roses lyric attended by every ofay insurance broker in America who owns a pair of white shoes.
